Nigeria Isolated For Ebola In Spain

A Nigerian passenger heading to Madrid from Paris has caused the isolation of a plane, believed to be carrying about 183 passengers, after he showed symptoms of Ebola

Ebola Drug Passes Early Test

After all the bad news that have been going round over the outbreak of the Ebola virus in West African countries, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, a piece of good news finally arrived some moments ago.

5 Ebola Patients Are Improving - Governor Fashola

A bright light has been shone into the darkness of the current Ebola outbreak as Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos has said that some of the patients are getting better.

Fashola disclosed this during a series of meetings with religious leaders, chairmen and health workers of the 57 local councils in the state.

He said:

“We now have 10 persons in isolation that are receiving treatment. Eight of them have been confirmed positive for the Ebola Virus Disease. We are still waiting for the results of the remaining two persons.

"All of them are stable, which means that they are not deteriorating. Five of them have really improved. This means they are fighting back. It confirms that Ebola is not an automatic death sentence if we do the right thing at the right time”

The number of cases officially on record in Nigeria has now reached 10 after the virus was brought into Lagos by Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer.

How Ebola Outbreak Started



According to the The New England Journal of Medicine, this year's Ebola outbreak possibly started with a 2-year-old boy from Guinea.


Researchers have said that the young boy is likely to have caught the virus in early December after which he died.

Danger: 2 Persons In Contact With Lagos Ebola Victim Develop Fever

In an announcement that would send chills down the spines of many Nigerians, the Lagos State Government today (Friday) said two persons out of those who had contacts with Mr Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian who died of Ebola, had manifested symptoms of fever.
Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, made this known in Ikeja, Lagos, while addressing newsmen on the update of the country`s first Ebola case.
According to Idris, the two persons were among the 70 contacts being monitored and investigated for any symptoms of the disease by the state government and other partners.
