Soludo arrested by EFCC for Fraud.

EFCC arrests Soludo
From Sun News
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and an aspirant in the 2010 governorship poll in Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
His arrest, according to a source at the EFCC office in Abuja, was in connection with the Australian polymer banknotes bribery scam, which occurred between 2006 and 2008 when he held sway as CBN governor. Confirming his arrest, Head of Publicity of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren said Soludo was arrested yesterday morning, adding that he was in the custody of the commission.
“We have Soludo in our custody and it is part of an ongoing investigation over his involvement in the award of contract and printing of polymer banknotes when he was the governor of the CBN.” Operatives of the EFCC arrested Soludo at his Abuja residence. A source at the commission who confided in Daily Sun hinted that other senior CBN staffers who served during Soludo’s tenure were being detained as well as those from the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Plc.
The source declined to disclose the names of others currently being detained along with Soludo. A close source, however, told Daily Sun correspondent that 12 others were also in the commission’s custody.
It was further gathered that Soludo, alongside others involved in the scandal, might be arraigned as soon as ongoing investigations were concluded by the commission. “As soon as the commission concludes its ongoing investigations and we have enough evidence, Soludo and others will be charged to court,” the source hinted.
The commission’s spokesman however debunked insinuations that Soludo’s arrest was connected with any perceived political difference with the presidency over his unwavering support for former vice president Atiku Abubakar during the 2011 PDP presidential primaries. Investigations by the EFCC and Soludo’s arrest were sequel to a petition written by Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) in May 2012, calling on the commission to investigate contract scam in the award of polymer banknotes printing.
According to the Chairman of HEDA, Mr. Olanrewaju Suraju, the petition had demanded the investigation and possible prosecution of serving and former government officials, particularly CBN staffers indicted in the scandal which resulted from the printing of polymer naira notes during the tenure of Prof. Soludo between 2006 and 2008.
The petition had requested both the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to pursue the investigation and prosecution as provided by laws establishing both commissions. The current naira bills which were allegedly printed in Australia in a questionable deal, following which a local newspaper had reported that former workers at Securency, The Reserve Bank of Australia’s currency firm, had told the police the firm produced millions of partly made Nigerian banknotes without authorisation from the Nigerian authorities.
The newspaper report had noted that the Australian Federal Police had subsequently investigated Securency over alleged bribery of foreign officials, including Nigerian and Vietnamese officials, to win contracts in these countries. HEDA’s petition, according to Mr. Suraju, drew attention to the fact that the newspaper report that Securency paid N750 million in bribe to some officials of the CBN between 2006 and 2008 to secure the contract to make polymer notes for Nigeria, channelling the bribe through Benoy Berry and Michael Harvey, two British businessmen.
HEDA chairman said: “The petition reminded the anti corruption institutions of a publication of Sydney Herald that on September 29, 2009, a day before the launch of the N5, N10 and N15 polymer notes, Benoy Berry, one of the British businessmen sent a letter to Myles Curtis (then Managing Director of Securency International Pty Limited, an Australian company) alleging a breach of contract and accusing the bank note company of bribing top officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria to secure contract for Securency. “He also accused Securency of breaching polymer-based mint planned to be established in Nigeria as part of principled objectives of transferring technology to developing nations.”
He had added that the Australian Federal Police Authority sent a high level confidential security memo to the Presidency through the Office of the National Security Adviser detailing a bribery probe that centred on the series of multi million-dollar payments by Securency into offshore bank accounts of the two British-based businessmen for onward transfer to Nigerian government officials to secure the bank-note deal.
“Prominent among the names featured in the secret memo were that of the then CBN governor, Frof. Soludo, senior officials of the finance ministry and a former president,” the statement by HEDA had stated.

***A MUST READ***I Took Off My UNDERWEAR..

I used to be that innocent girl who had the world at her feet. I was beautiful and I had eyes and HIPS that could make men sway, and to top it all up, I was a Christian, a very good Christian with a heart burning for God. When I entered the university, I met a guy, his name was DERRICK. I couldn't believe my luck the first time I bumped into him on my way to class, he had such a kind smile and a tender look that weakened my knees when he spoke. Because I was late for class we couldn't talk much but barely three weeks later, I met him at the fresher’s night party and I was overwhelmed. We got talking and I found out that he was in his second year and from that night, we became an inseparable pair. At first, we were friends and as months passed by, we got closer and closer and the chemistry between us was undeniable.

About a year after I entered the university, Derrick and I started dating. He was everything a girl could ever want and desire save the fact that he wasn't so much of a Christian. Derrick had magical hands that made him hard to resist and most times I fell for it. At first, I felt bad but when I couldn't help falling into the same pit I killed the guilt on my inside. And then one day, one of my friends said I was getting fatter and that got me thinking and in the process I began to link the dots…first I had a vomiting spree every morning which I thought was due to a flu and then I had this morning sickness which I felt it
was due to stress and then my missing period…oh no it can’t be possible I said to myself, I couldn't be pregnant!!!

After a series of test outside school, I realized the deadliest truth, I was indeed pregnant. I was only nineteen, I still had a whole life ahead of me, what was I going to do. I couldn't tell my parents, they wouldn't hear of it. I had to go to Derrick to tell him what I had found out.

UNIBEN Prof announces NEW cure for HIV/AIDS

Benin – Prof. Isaiah Ibeh of the University of Benin, on Tuesday announced the development of a new drug that can allegedly ‘cure’ HIV and AIDS. Ibeh, who is the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of the university, told reporters in Benin that the herbal drug had undergone “series of successful tests”.
He said “We are at the threshold of making history, in the sense that we seem to have with us something that will permanently take care of what over time seems to have defied all solutions. “We are talking about the latest discovery of an oral drug made from plants extraction in Nigeria for the possible cure of the pandemic, HIV and AIDS virus.’’
According to him, research on the project was started in 2010 and culminated in the development of “Deconcotion X (DX)–Liquid or Bioclean 11 for the cure of HIV and AIDS”. “The existing retroviral drugs are intervention drugs for the management of AIDS but our new discovery is a possible cure.
File photo: A rally to mark HIV/Aids Day.
File photo: A rally to mark HIV/Aids Day.
“We have tried to look at the product first; its toxicological analysis and discovered that it has a large safety margin. “This means that if animals or human beings are exposed to it, they will not suffer any serious harm at all from the exposure. “It also helped us to know the quantity we can conveniently give to animals and will feel secure that nothing untoward will happen.
“We have also done the bacteriological analysis on it, after which we looked at its effect on the virus and the result was quite revealing and refreshing.” Ibeh also said that the drug had been exposed to series of medical examination both in Nigeria and in the USA. He added that the drug had performed well on patients with the HIV virus and had shown evidence of total restoration of damaged tissues.
“The result showed an increase in the body weight of the individual administered with DX. “The body weight was statistically significant when compared with the control group.” He said that further tests were being conducted to determine “at what point will a patient become negative after being administered the drug?”.
“This verification is necessary because it is what is used to measure whether infection is still there or not. So we need to know the siro-convention time. “But preliminary results showed that of the five latest patients orally administered with the drugs, our findings is that up to seven months , three of them were siro negative while two were sill faintly positive.’’ Ibeh appealed for support from the Federal Government and relevant bodies to assist the university with relevant equipment to sustain the research.(NAN)

Dating married men can be juicy – Amaka Anioji

From Vanguard Newspaper
Despite her nine years stunt in the industry, Amaka Anioji cannot be described as a popular face in Nollywood  mainly because of her  inconsistency .  But last year, she took many by surprise when she won the Most Outstanding Actress award  at the 9th edition of the Abuja international film festival, beating  established actresses like Ini Edo, Funke Akindele, Nse Etim-Ikpe, Uche Jombo among others. In this interview, she  speaks on a number of  issues concerning her personal life, career  and her role in the award winning short film, “ Till Death Do Us Part” which shot her into the limelight.
What is the big deal about  the movie,’Till Death Do Us Part’?
It  is a 15-minute film that was nominated for an award.
Role played in the movie.
I was the female lead. I played the role of a woman who was beaten and battered by her  husband.
Is this the first movie you are playing lead?
No, this is not the first movie I played the lead character. I have played lead in several movies such as ‘Young Heritage’, and ‘Broken’ that will soon be released. I also played lead in ‘Married,in ‘Close Friends, Game Player in ‘Tinsel’.
When did you join the industry?
I joined the industry in 2004, but I later disappeared and reappeared  in 2006, when I landed a role in a new movie. I finally returned in 2010 and since then,  I have been consistent.
*Amaka
*Amaka
Among all the films you have featured in, which do you consider most challenging?
I think the most challenging is, ‘Till Death Do us Part’ because it is a short feature film.I have to go through many emotions at the same time. It was really a lot of work for me. I think it is very challenging as well as exciting such that people talked about it.
Did  your acting as a battered wife affects your attitude towards life ?
It  has nothing to do with my true life situation, after all, I am not married yet. And I have been lucky with my relationships. I think what happened in the movie was what the script spoke to me. When I was called by the director, Tope Ogun, who  once  directed me on the set of Tinsel.
She called me and said ‘Amaka, I want you to play the lead role in the movie. I used to be crazy about her as a director before she got married.Later,  she  sent  the script  and asked me to go through it and tell her what I think about it. But while reading through the script, I started crying because, it was really emotional. However, after going through the script,  I informed that I would be interested to be part of the movie.
What is outstanding about you?
I think understanding the role I am going to play at any point in time is the secret behind that. Because every story and  role is very unique and being able to understand those differences is what I feel is outstanding. Because when I was playing a Doctor in Tinsel is different from when I  played a battered wife.
The same thing was applicable to  the much loved wife as Allen in Married. As a matter of fact, I have some respects for the roles I played  in movies because I see them as individuals. I tried to understand them, who they are and what they are really about. I take my time to communicate to  myself.
After acting a particular role, it will take some people days to get off the  character, does it happen to you?
Yes,  of course, it happened to me in ‘’Till Death Do Us Part.’ That’s why I said it was very challenging. When we were shooting  the movie, the atmosphere was very moody. So, after a period of time, I was so frustrated, feeling so much like the role I played in the movie.
After sometime, I sat on a place and I couldn't talk to anybody. I was crying. Even when I was not crying, tears were still running down my cheeks.  I was really feeling that bad. Just like when you have  to play the happy role, you will be happy throughout.
Amaka-2
Did you work on your boobs?
No I didn’t. I have  natural nice breasts. And when it goes down with age, I will let it go like that.  I am not going to work on anything. I will age gracefully. So, I do not have problem with that.
What a bout your hair?
I actually wear a bright hair style. I can experiment on my hair because I like doing that.
So  who is the man?
Let us not talk about the man. He is not interested in this talk. Let us just  leave the man out of  this. I cannot have my relationship on the pages of newspaper, it is so annoying. I lost a relationship that means a  lot to me some couple of years ago. We misunderstood ourselves and we went so far as if there was no room for reconciliation.
After sometime, I sat down and pondered over what happened between us and discovered that it was something we could have settled amicably. Really, that relationship meant a lot to me. Each time, I remember how compatible  we were then, I feel bad. I still miss my ex… But that’s is a forgone issue, I still count myself as being lucky because life has to go on.
Can you date a married man?
Well, it is frustrating. It can be tempting sometimes when you meet married men who are really very charming especially, when you have dated a single guy who is very annoying. You run into a married man who is good looking and experienced, you would be tempted to fall in love with him.
But for me, I will always think of how dating a married man will affect people’s perception about me.  After-all, I am not going to marry the person but I’m more concerned about what people are going to say.   I also considered how that thing will affect my relationship with God. Though it can be very juicy, I consider all that. I like to work and earn my living,  it gives me joy.
Would you  do a toy boy?
wouldn't. I cannot have a toy boy. But I will have a valued friend.
There  are so many people in Nollywood who sleep their  ways to the top, what do you have to say about that?
I don’t have much to say about that because it is common everywhere, people sleeping their way to get what they want. They  sleep their way to become Executive Assistants and Managing Directors of blue chip companies.  It is not only in Nollywood that such things happen.

Man vs. Woman - Human Brain Analysis: who is smarter

Human Brain Analysis - Man vs. Woman......A MUST READ!

1. MULTI-TASKING
Women - Multiple process
Womens brains designed to concentrate multiple task at a time.
Women can Watch a TV and Talk over phone and cook.
Men - Single Process
Mens brains designed to concentrate only one work at a time. Men can not watch TV and talk over the phone at the same time. they stop the TV while Talking. They can either watch TV or talk over the phone or cook.

2. LANGUAGE
Women can easily learn many languages. But can not find solutions to problems. Men can not easily learn languages, they can easily solve problems. That's why in average a 3 years old girl has three times higher vocabulary than a 3 yeard old boy.

3. ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Mens brains has a lot of space for handling the analytical process. They can analyze and find the solution for a process and design a map of a building easily. But If a complex map is viewed by women, they can not understand it. Women can not understand the details of a map easily, For them it is just a dump of lines on a paper.

4. CAR DRIVING.
While driving a car, mans analytical spaces are used in his brain. He can drive a car fastly. If he sees an object at long distance, immediately his brain classifies the object (bus or van or car) direction and speed of the object and he drives accordingly. Where woman take a long time to recognize the object direction/ speed. Mans single process mind stops the audio in the car (if any), then concentrates only on driving.

5. LYING
When men lie to women face to face, they get caught easily. Womans super natural brain observes facial expression 70%, body language 20% and words coming from the mouth 10%. Mens brain does not have this. Women easily lie to men face to face.
So guys, do not lie face to face.

6. PROBLEMS SOLVING
If a man have a lot of problems, his brain clearly classifies the problems and puts them in individual rooms in the brain and then finds the solution one by one. You can see many guys looking at the sky for a long time. If a woman has a lot of problems, her brain can not classify the problems. she wants some one to hear that. After telling everything to a person she goes happily to bed. She does not worry about the problems being solved or not.

7. WHAT THEY WANT
Men want status, success, solutions, big process, etc... But Women want relationship, friends, family, etc...

8. UNHAPPINESS
If women are unhappy with their relations, they can not concentrate on their work. If men are unhappy with their work, they can not concentrate on the relations.

9. SPEECH
Women use indirect language in speech. But Men use direct language.

10. HANDLING EMOTION
Women talk a lot without thinking. Men act a lot without thinking.

King Sunny Ade's Ex-Guitarist Arrested at Airport For Drug Trafficking

Fatoke Abiodun, Nigeria’s veteran guitarist, who played alongside legendary musician, King Sunny Ade for three decades, has been arrested with cocaine, the anti-drug agency said on Saturday.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said that Abiodun was arrested on 1 January while attempting to board an Air France flight to Italy at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
Fatoke-abiodun
“We have made the first arrest in the new year. The suspect, a guitarist by name Fatoke Abiodun was found with 1.575kg of cocaine. The drug was discovered in the false bottom of his luggage during the outward screening of passengers to Italy,” said ,NDLEA Commander the Lagos Airport, Mr Hamza Umar
The agency said the 62-year old grandfather with four wives and many children, is helping narcotic investigators handling the case.

“Fatoke has owned up to the alleged crime blaming his involvement on financial hardship,” said the agency’s spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju.

NDLEA quoted Fatoke as saying: “I played for King Sunny Ade for 30 years before I was unceremoniously retired in 2007. I was unprepared and without severance money I saw the bitter side of life.”

He said his drug trafficking attempt is his first as he did it out of frustration.

“Because at my age I could not provide for my family. I am ashamed of myself,” he was quoted as saying.

NDLEA Chairman, Ahmadu Giade described the involvement of Fatoke in drug trafficking as sad and disappointing.

“It is sad and disappointing for a grandfather to be involved in drug trafficking. This is a bad legacy to his children. This is a good start for the agency in the year and a sign that the days ahead will be tough for drug traffickers. The agency will continue to handle every case in accordance with the NDLEA Act,” Giade was quoted as saying.

The suspect will be charged to court for unlawful exportation and possession of narcotics, NDLEA said.

This is what reckless lifestyle will push you into. What in the world is he doing with 4 wives?

Confessions of An Assassin: ‘How we killed Kano lawmakers for N40,000′

To a self-confessed assassin in Kano State, the lives of two lawmakers are not worth more than N40,000.
That is the amount he and his colleagues were allegedly paid by their suspected sponsor to assassinate Hon. Ibrahim Abba Garko and Hon Isa Kademi, both members of Kano State House of Assembly.
The money was said to have even been paid in two installments of N20,000 each.
Garko was killed on  November 17, 2012 by gunmen operating on motor bike in front of his house located at Yanáwaki Ungwa-Uku General Area while Kademi fell to the assassins bullets on December 14 in front of his guest house situated at Hotoro Maradun during the evening rush  hour.
Until their assassination, Garko, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), represented Garko local government in parliament whereas Kademi, of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), was a three-time chairman of Gaya local government and a former chairman of Association of Local Governments in Kano State.
Sunday Vanguard exclusively obtained the interrogation tape of the professional dyer-turned- self-confessed assassin, Ibrahim Lawal, in which he claimed to have been  a member of the gang that murdered the two lawmakers and named one Alhaji Sale Kura, a PDP chieftain, as their sponsor.
IGP, M D Abubakar
IGP, M D Abubakar
Kano State Police Commissioner, Mr  Ibrahim Idris, had, on Wednesday, paraded Lawal and Sale in connection with the assassination. Both of them, however, denied afterwards, their involvement in both killings to journalists.
“I am not a member of Boko Haram. I am a hired assassin and armed robber. We operated in a group of six and all of us live at Ungwa Uku,”Lawal told interrogators in the 25-minute tape.
On the killing of the lawmakers, the suspected assassin said, “We were mobilised by Sale Kura who personally handed over to me N20,000 twice (making N40,000) and we trekked to the abode of one of the targets while some other members of the gang arrived on motorbike.
“The target was identified and we went out of our way to spray others within the vicinity to avoid any of them recognising us. The gang escaped in the ensuring melee.”
The first scene of the video tape of Lawal’s interrogation opened in an apartment where six cops, led by a high ranking officer, were seated. A Mobile Police officer came in with the  suspected assassin.
A gentle voice fired the first salvo,”Who are you”?
The suspect answered: “My name is Ibrahim Lawal; I live at Layin Yarbawa Ungwa-Uku. I had my primary  education at Ungwa Uku, and proceeded to Government Secondary School Bichi. I ventured into professional dying after I dropped out of secondary school. I maintained a shop at Layin Tazarce at the same quarters.”
In response to a question on whether he was a member of Boko Haram, the suspect, in a loud voice, declared: “I am not a member of Boko Haram; I am a hired assassin and armed robber. We operated in  a group of 6 and all of us live at Ungwa Uku”.
“Tell us more about the group”?, one of the police officers said.
Lawal replied: “We have Sagir Yahuza of Farin Massalaci Ungwa Uku, Surajo Adamu of Layin Tazarce Ungwa Uku, Tasiu Shuaibu of Layin Yarabawa Ungwa Uku and Mohammed AbdulSalam of Layin Tazarce Ungwa Uku quarters in Kano metropolis”.
On how he joined the gang, the suspect alleged, “I was personally recruited into the group by Alhaji Sale Kura who happens to be my neighbor and we enjoy a close relationship since 1999 when he became the PDP chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State”.
Asked to comment on the criminal gang, Lawal stated:  “We are not only into killings, we were also involved in violent robbery operations and Alhaji Sale Kura usually provided  us with concoction to drink before embarking on operations. The drink had the effect of emboldening us  as we confronted  risks head on”.
The interrogation drew to a close with a question on how the suspect was captured by the police.
Lawal stated: “I was with Mabo, the leader of the gang, when we received a call that a person on our hit list was sighted around Mabo shop and we quickly armed ourselves and moved in but, on arriving at the shop, the said person was no where to be found.
“As we were returning to my shop on a motorbike, we were accosted by a team of police officers who arrested me but Mabo was lucky as he escaped.”
Already, the state command of the Police has vowed not to spare anyone connected with the assassination of the lawmakers.
A senior officer of the Command told Sunday vanguard that “we would ensure that our investigation into the matter is very thorough as well as send the right signal that the Police Force of today means well; just as our Inspector General, MD Abubakar, is leaving no stone unturned in his transformation of the Force
