Google Announces New Nexus Phone and Tablets

googlenexusdevices

Here are the details on Google’s new hardware and software:
LG’s Nexus 4
The Nexus 4 has a 4.7-in., 1,280-by-768-pixel resolution display, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor from Qualcomm, 2 gigabytes of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and either 8 or 16 gigabytes of storage. It also has NFC, a micro USB port and micro HDMI output. For bells and whistles, Google is touting built-in wireless charging (though you’ll need to supply your own compatible charging mat) and a Photo Sphere feature that can shoot 360-degree panorama photos.
In terms of tech specs, the Nexus 4 is close to the high end for today’s smart phones, but it has one major drawback: it doesn’t support 4G LTE, only the slower HSPA+. As the Verge explains, Google wants to sell these phones unlocked and without wireless contracts, which isn’t possible with Verizon or Sprint without their permission. That leaves AT&T, whose LTE frequencies are different than the rest of the world’s. Rather than make a separate, and more expensive, 4G LTE phone for AT&T users, Google went with a single HSPA+ model that works everywhere.
The result is a phone that’s inexpensive considering that it’s not tied to a contract — $299 for the 8-GB version and $349 for the 16-GB version — but whose data speeds are surpassed by the majority of smart phones on the U.S. market. Also, in the U.S., the unlocked version will work only with AT&T or T-Mobile, but the latter carrier will sell a subsidized Nexus 4 for $200 with a two-year contract. The phone launches on Nov. 13.
More Storage for Asus Nexus 7
Nothing major here. Google and Asus simply doubled the storage on the Nexus 7, to 16 GB for the $199 version and 32 GB for the $249 version, and added a 3G option for $299 with 32 GB of storage. (It’ll work with AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.) The much needed storage boost helps bring the Nexus 7 in line with other cheap tablets.
Aside from the storage bump and optional 3G, the new Nexus 7 is the same as the old one, with a 7-in., 1,280-by-800 resolution display, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing webcam and a micro USB port. It weighs 0.7 lb., measures 0.4 in. thick and gets about 9.5 hours of battery life on a charge.
Samsung’s Nexus 10
This is Google’s first Nexus tablet to compete directly with Apple‘s iPad, and it offers a Retina-beating 10.1-in., 2,560-by-1,600 resolution display as its claim to fame. Other specs include a dual-core A15 processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.9-megapixel front camera, micro USB, micro HDMI and NFC. The tablet also supports multiple user sign-ins, with separate home screens, apps, e-mail and photos for each. The 16-GB model will sell for $399, while the 32-GB model will cost $499, starting Nov. 13.

Android 4.2
Google calls Android 4.2 a “new flavor” of Jelly Bean — the code name previously reserved for Android 4.1. That’s probably because it’s not a huge update, but it adds a handful of features that should make Google’s operating system more enjoyable. In addition to Photo Sphere and multiple user sign-ins, Android 4.2 includes Swype-like gesture-typing support forMiracast, an AirPlay-esque standard that lets users beam audio and video to televisions. (At the moment, there aren’t many Miracast devices, but the hope is that it’ll eventually be a standard feature in TVs and set-top boxes.)
Google Now, a virtual assistant that tries to automatically provide helpful information, is also getting more features in Android 4.2. For Gmail users, Google Now can gather details on your upcoming flights, hotels, restaurant reservations, events and package shipments and provide reminders as dates approach. It can also let you know of attractions or photo spots nearby.
More Content
Music and movies have been a weak spot for Google, but a few new deals with content creators should help. Last month, 20th Century Fox agreed to provide movies and TV shows to Google Play, and on Monday Google announced a partnership with Warner Music Group, so the underappreciated Google Play Music now has the support of all the major record labels.
Google’s adding a scan-and-match music service as well, so any songs you store online will be matched against the Google Play catalog and made available to stream from anywhere without uploading. Unlike Apple’s similar iTunes Match service, Google’s scan-and-match service will be free. It’s heading to Europe on Nov. 13 and to the U.S. soon after.
For magazines, Google struck a deal with Time Inc. (which obviously owns this blog) so periodicals like TIME and People will be part of Google’s magazine app.
The announcement didn’t have any big surprises that hadn’t been rumored for while, but it’s good to see more Nexus devices from Google. Android is often at its best when it’s not modified into oblivion by phone makers and wireless carriers, so while the new hardware many not set the tech world on fire, it at least provides a few more options for users who want the pure Android experience.

Ripples of Hurricane Sandy may hit Lagos – Commissioner

The Lagos state government has raised concerns over the imminent ripple effect of the Hurricane Sandy that hit the United States of America and the Caribbean.
At a press conference in Lagos on Tuesdau, the Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, Segun Oniru said experience has shown that whenever hurricane, cyclone or other natural disasters occurred on the American shore, the ripple effects were always felt in Lagos within seven and 14 days period.
“Let Lagosians know what is going on, and what to expect, it is not to create panic; they should be careful around the Ocean and Lagoon. In the last five to six days, around the Caribbean, from Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba Hurricane Sandy has hit those places and has also hit the East Coast of America.
“Normally, when such happens, and when those kinds of magnitude hit that part of the world, we always have a ripple effect in Lagos and around the West Coast of Africa. Our main concern is Lagos; it is a warning, but not to create panic,” he said.
-->
The Commissioner further said that “Lagos lies parallel to the South America part of the world on the map, but super storm Sandy has hit New York City and Atlantic and the West Part.
“That part of the world is northern to us, but we need to note that within the next seven to 14 days, we may get a ripple effect.
“When the wind starts, the wind turns to a hurricane and then high water level begins to rise because of the wind; imagine throwing water on a glass, it will splash back, so we may have high wave, high water level.
“I advise those who live around the coastline and shoreline to be vigilant and remain calm and if they start seeing storms like the one that occurred on 17 of August this year, they should stay off the Atlantic. It’s a warning to those on the Coastline.”

Samsung to construct second engineering firm in Nigeria

Samsung Electronics West Africa, has commenced the construction of its second Engineering Academy in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, in line with its commitment to the development of Nigeria’s information technology sector.
Inaugurated in South Africa in March 2011, the initiative premiered in Nigeria with the opening of the first Samsung Electronics Engineering Academy at Government Technical College, Ikeja in Lagos State. The capacity-building programme is an integral part of Samsung’s vision to fast-track the entry of African youths into the electronics job market, with a view to developing 10,000 electronic engineers across the continent by 2015.
-->
The Samsung Electronics Engineering Academy provides youths participating in the scheme with free hands-on, vocational training. Students undergo a one-year programme comprising basic, intermediate and advanced engineering skills and are introduced to industry appropriate practices, tools and equipment.
In addition to ensuring that Africa develops an adequate pool of engineering skills, the academy also provides learners with well-paying job opportunities, a commitment that supports the Nigerian government’s drive to address the issue of youth unemployment.
Managing Director, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Bravo Kim, reiterated the firm’s interest and commitment to facilitating a better future for Nigeria by training a skilled workforce of technicians who will become service experts empowered to create wealth.
“At Samsung, we understand the importance of investment in quality education and its role in youth empowerment. Today’s ceremony is yet another significant milestone for Samsung in Africa, as it represents our vision to ensure that empowerment opportunities that exist on the continent is shared by all, even as we continue to expand the programme here in Nigeria and across the continent,” he stated.
The academy is one of several community development projects undertaken by Samsung over the past few years, in furtherance of its corporate social investment initiatives.
Other projects include Samsung’s “One Computer per Child” initiative, which is designed to put a laptop computer on the desk of every student in Ekiti State public secondary schools by 2014; its “Solar-powered Schools” initiative, designed to take solar-powered ICT laboratories to schools in underserved areas and its installation of e-learning centres in locations across the continent.

Chelsea to End referee MARK CLATTENBURG’S career over Chelsea vs Man U match

Winter: Racism claims could end Mark's career

Referee Mark Clattenburg deals with John Obi Mikel during Sunday's match
PRESSURE ... referee Mark Clattenburg deals with John Obi Mikel during Sunday's match

MARK CLATTENBURG’S career as a referee could be over if he is proven to have racially abused a Chelsea player.

That is the view of former Premier League official Jeff Winter, who spent 25 years in the game before retiring at the top in 2004.

Clattenburg was in charge of Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
He sent off Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres during the match as United sealed a stunning late victory through Javier Hernandez.

But the ref’s conduct came into question when Chelsea revealed they had reported him for using "inappropriate language” towards two of their players.

And the FA today announced they have begun an investigation into to the allegations.
Luis Suarez and John Terry were banned for using racist language during matches this year but were not axed by their clubs.

However, Winter said: “If a match official has used racial insults or language to a player then he’s for the high jump.
“He won’t be getting a four-match or an eight-match ban, it’ll probably be the end of his career, but that is if indeed he did say anything.”

Clattenburg was unavailable for comment directly but the Professional Game Match Officials said the referee has promised to co-operate with any investigation.

The FA are expected to receive today the match delegate’s report in which Chelsea have made the allegations.
Winter feels there is no way that Clattenburg can continue refereeing while the allegations are hanging over him.
He added: “I feel it very unlikely that Mark Clattenburg would be allowed to referee until it’s dealt with.

“We certainly don’t want this going on for weeks and months.”
Winter admitted that he found it ironic that a referee that has been accused of using inappropriate language.

Officials are often subjected to abuse from players and fans at almost every match.
Winter added: “Initially it is insulting words and I must admit I smiled at that.

“We watch football matches every week of the year hearing players use insulting words to referees.
-->
“Then somebody takes umbrage when somebody allegedly says something back. But I just hope this can be cleared.
“It’s slightly ironic that players dish it out left right and centre.

“If something has been said back — and we’re not talking about racial here, we’re talking about like for like — then I don’t think anybody’s got a right to complain.

“I’m not saying referees should do it but there seems to be one law for one set of people and one law for another.
“But this inference that racial language has been used is very, very serious.”

Fellow former ref Graham Poll believes Clattenburg's assistants will be key to the investigation.
He said: "A referee's microphone is on open. Everything he says is heard by two assistants.
"So if Mark said something, the assistants would have heard it.

"If a comment of a racial nature was made, I think it should be reported and I think assistant referees will report it because there's no place for it."

Meanwhile, Prospect, the referees' union, said: "We are committed to helping to eradicate racism in football and in society generally.

"In the context of that commitment, Prospect is offering full support to Mark Clattenburg in relation to the allegations made against him.

"It is now important that the allegations are fully investigated through the proper process as quickly as possible.
"We will be making no further comment at this stage."

Clattenburg will not officiate a game in the Premier League this coming weekend.

Gowon hits Achebe on civil war, says: He wrote out of ignorance

War time Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, has criticized  renowned author, Professor Chinua Achebe, over his new book  on the Nigerian civil war, saying he{Achebe }does not know the issue he was writing about.

Gowon said he was ready to face the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague on the matter if necessary.
“What role did Achebe play in the secessionist plans? Achebe must  have been outside the country during the war and probably did not know what happened during the period otherwise he would not have written on what he was not sure of “, he  remarked.
The erstwhile Nigerian leader,  who was answering questions from journalists  courtesy, visit to Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu at the Presidential Lodge, Minna, Niger state, yesterday, said Achebe must have been talking out of ignorance, adding that he and the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo had  no regrets over their roles in the civil war, pointing out that if there was no secession, there would not have been civil war.

Gen. Gowon

“In fact , if there was no secession by the south eastern part of the country, there would have been no civil war because right from the beginning of the crises,  the war would have been averted if not for the secession . It was something I believed we could have stopped,”  he stressed.
Gowon  also debunked  the claim by the author that his administration embarked on the mass killing of Igbo,  adding that the federal troops did not also use hunger as a weapon to dislodge the dissidents.
“It  was the Igbo that objected to the creation of corridor for movements of  medical  aid  and food supplies  to the civilian population at the period; on this,  I am ready to face the International Criminal Court of Justice at the Hague for prosecution over  the role played by me during the war  and, fortunately,  some Nigerians are still alive to bear witness to the roles played by both the leadership of the secessionist group and the then Federal Military Government under my leadership, “the war-time leader stated.
--> He also recalled that during the war, a  ship named “Josina”  and owned by the secessionist group, which they claimed was carrying agricultural implements,  was captured by federal  troops and it was subjected to a thorough search and the cargo turned out to  be a collection of  arms and ammunition.
Gowon, who was in Minna for a 2-day prayer organized by Nigeria Prays, a group he leads,  said that the massive deaths recorded by the Igbo during the civil war was caused by their own propaganda machine which claimed that the northern invaders were coming to their camps and that caused panic and  pandemonium among their people because some people were trying to move from one location to the other out of fear of imaginary attacks by the so called northern invaders and without food.

Man Arrested, Accused of Trying to Cheat Facebook

NEW YORK (AP) — A businessman who claimed in a lawsuit that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg had promised him half ownership in the then-fledgling company when he was still at Harvard was arrested Friday on fraud charges.
Paul Ceglia, 39, was arrested at his Wellsville, N.Y., home on charges of mail and wire fraud after an investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. He was scheduled to appear in federal court in Buffalo later in the day.
Authorities said Ceglia doctored, fabricated and destroyed evidence to support the claims in a lawsuit he filed in Buffalo federal court in 2010.
In the lawsuit, Ceglia claimed that he and Zuckerberg in 2003 signed a software development contract that included a provision entitling Ceglia to half ownership of Facebook in exchange for $1,000 in startup money for the budding company.
Investigators said in a release that Ceglia had replaced the first page of the real contract he signed with Zuckerberg with another page that was “doctored to make it appear as though Zuckerberg had agreed to provide Ceglia with an interest in Facebook.”
A criminal complaint in the case said a search of Ceglia’s computer hard drives uncovered the real April 28, 2003 contract, which Ceglia had emailed to an attorney in March 2004, years before his lawsuit against Facebook and Zuckerberg. Additional evidence included proof that spacing, columns and margins in the fake contract differs from the real contract and copies of actual emails in Harvard’s backup tapes, the complaint said. Authorities said Zuckerberg and another of Facebook’s founders have said the idea for Facebook did not arise until months after the contract with Ceglia.
-->
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Ceglia was seeking a “quick payday based on a blatant forgery.”
Bharara said Ceglia’s “alleged conduct not only constitutes a massive fraud attempt, but also an attempted corruption of our legal system through the manufacture of false evidence. That is always intolerable. Dressing up a fraud as a lawsuit does not immunize you from prosecution.”
In a statement, attorney Orin Snyder praised the prosecution on behalf of Zuckerberg and the Menlo Park, Calif.-based Facebook. “Ceglia used the federal court system to perpetuate his fraud and will now be held accountable for his criminal scheme,” the statement says.
If convicted, Ceglia could face up to 40 years in prison. It was not immediately clear who will represent Ceglia in court. A lawyer who has represented him in his lawsuit did not immediately return a message for comment.

Kaduna Church Bombing: Officials Confirm Numerous Casualties

By SaharaReporters, New York
There are conflicting reports about the number of casualties from today's suicide bomb attack on worshipers at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Ungwan Yero, Kaduna, capital of Kaduna State. The bombed church is within the Malali area of Kaduna, an administrative hub of  Northern Nigeria.
An official of the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) confirmed that at least 8 people were dead. NEMA's figure contradicted initial claims by the Kaduna State Police that only the suicide bomber died in the suicide bomb attack. Several survivors who witnessed the bombing also told our correspondent that they saw several dead worshipers after the attack. They also told SaharaReporters that some furious worshipers pursued and killed a few bystanders following the suicide bombing attack.
A security source in Kaduna confirmed that some other people were attacked and killed immediately after the terror attack. The sources said security agents in the city were trying to manage the tense situation in order to avert escalation of reprisal attacks.
SaharaReporters spoke to Reverend Father Anthony Zaka, the deputy communications director of the media center at the Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna about today's attack. According to Father Zaka, the bomber must have done enough reconnaisance at the church to determine how to cause maximum carnage. He disclosed that the attacker rammed his car through the wall and inside the church before the explosion. He stated that five worshipers died on the spot and that four of the seriously wounded parishioners died at the hospital within the last one hour. He expressed fear that the casualty figures would rise in the coming hours and days.

-->
Father Zaka also disclosed that the officiating priest as well as hundreds of other worshipers sustained serious to critical injuries in the attack.

A survivor who identified himself as Peter John told SaharaReporters over the phone that he counted about 15 casualties. “I don't really know what to say. My hands are trembling and my fingers are refusing to flex," said Mr. John. He added, "But slow and steady I will send the message across. Why, why, why? If somebody had told me that I will one day experience what happened today I will swear by everything that it's impossible. This is the height of inhumanity to man. Innocent worshipers blasted by a suicide bomber. The casualties I counted are way above 15. The entire choir was affected and that group was most affected.”

No group has claimed responsibility for today's attack, but the security source in Kaduna said the nature of the carnage suggested it was carried out by Boko Haram, a violent Islamist group that opposes Western influences in Nigeria.

9 Friends You Should Dump Right Now

True friends are not like clothes—you don’t toss ‘em out just because they’re out of style. That said, every guy has at least one or two buddies that, sooner or later, will go the way of the cargo shorts or Birkenstocks you wore back in college. You’ve just outgrown them.
And that’s OK, because while research has shown that positive relationships both improve your health and extend your life, negative relationships have just the opposite effect, according to a new study from the University of Utah. Put simply, stressful or frustrating friendships can be unhealthy, the Utah research shows.
So how do you know when it’s time to punt on a friendship? Here are the nine types of friends you might have to dump—and how to let them down easy. (For more guy wisdom and great life advice, sign up for our FREE Best Life newsletter.)
1. The PlayerHe’s about one thing and one thing only: getting laid. You loved having him around during your single years, but he’s still gunning for new “conquests” every weekend, and your wife thinks he’s an ass. You love the guy, but his routine has been stale since Clinton was still in office.
Keep or cut: “Your friend isn’t a bad guy. He’s simply at a different phase of life than you are,” says Irene Levine, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and author of Best Friends Forever.  You don’t have to stop hanging out with him completely, but you do have to put the concerns of your wife or girlfriend first, explains Guy Blews, author of Smack Therapy and Realistic Relationships. “Put yourself in her shoes and think about how you’d feel if she kept going out with the town slut,” Blews says. “You’d worry, and you’d be right.” Blews advises letting The Player play his game with someone else for a while. “You’ll be able to reconnect again when he settles down,” Levine adds.
2. The Sports FanaticHe watches every game—pro or college—in all four major sports . . . plus soccer. When he’s not updating his fantasy team, he’s emailing you ESPN.com articles or calling to ask whether he should bet $100 on the Vikings this weekend. You used to be as passionate about sports as he is, but now you’ve got more important things to think about, like a kid and a mortgage.
Keep or cut: “If you have any desire to find a successful, lasting relationship with a member of the opposite sex, step far away from the sports fanatic,” Blews recommends—only half joking. Levine says ignoring the guy’s constant stream of sports-related phone calls and texts is a good start. He’ll get the message. And if he doesn’t, be blunt. “Tell him you’re busy at work or at home, or drop other hints that sports aren’t top of mind for you right now,” she says. If that doesn’t work? Let him go. You can talk pigskin with your son anyway.
3. The Single GuyHe’s a hell of a nice guy, but he just can’t seem to find the right person. He also feels the need to talk to you about it constantly, bemoaning his perpetual singledom. You feel bad that you haven’t been able to successfully set him up, but after endless introductions and nights spent as a wing man, there’s only so much you can do.
Keep or cut: Forget subtlety. Tell your friend that life is about more than landing the right woman, and he needs to find some other hobbies in order to be appeal to another person—babe or bro, Levine says. Either way, tell him you’re done counseling him on relationship woes, Blews adds. “He’s probably just looking for a shoulder to cry on anyway, so let him blunder his way through things without wasting your time.” Ouch. (Are you the single guy? Discover how to Land the Woman of Your Dreams.)
4. The CreepHis defining characteristic: totally skeezing your wife out. Sure, he’s funny and he shares your sense of humor, but there’s something about him that reminds you of your less than sterling single days. (The less said about them, the better.) He’s a bad drinker, and he’s done things to or around women that you’d never mention to the Mrs., even though you’re pretty sure he’s harmless . . . probably.
Keep or cut: Unfortunately, some people never grow up, Levine says. “Life’s too short to spend time with someone you don’t respect and who makes you feel bad about yourself or your past.” Yes, you may have some shared history and he may make you laugh, but you’re better off without him, she says. “Separate him from any and all females you have any loving, caring, or protective feelings toward,” Blews adds. “That includes your mother.”
5. The Old ManHe’s in a hurry to be his father. He was married by 24, and had two kids and a golf club membership by 28. He loves talking about his 401k. His idea of a wild night out is dinner with the wives, a drink afterward at the bar, and home by 10. You appreciate how responsible and mellow he’s become, but you’re not quite ready to pack it in and commit the next 30+ years to playing golf and mowing the lawn.
Keep or cut: This friend can help you get a glimpse of your future, and so he’s a living reminder that you shouldn’t be in such a hurry to get there, Levine says. There’s no reason to break things off, but hang out with him sparingly—like when you need to talk with someone about a big decision, she says. Just don’t subject your wife or girlfriend to his yawn-ologies on personal finance or ‘Skins games, Blews advises. (Spice up any friendship by heading outdoors. Click here to Find Your Next Adventure.)
6. The Cheater
He’s a great friend, and everybody loves him. He’s charismatic and charming, and he’s with a fantastic, funny woman. Your girlfriend gets along great with him and his partner, but there’s one small problem: He’s a shameless, habitual two-timer. You’ve seen him cheat on his girl—or at least try to—every time you’re out on the town without your women, and you know one of these days he’s going to get you in a lot of trouble.
-->
Keep or cut: If you don’t stop hanging out with this guy, you’re going to pay the price, Blews says. Even if you’re not with him when he cheats, you’ll be smeared by association, he adds. If he’s a close friend and you don’t want to send him packing, you have to be upfront with your partner about his behavior, Levine adds. “Tell your wife or girlfriend about his tendencies and let her know that you only accept these behaviors because they are part of a package,” Levine recommends. But if she’s not cool with that? “He has to go,” Blews says.
7. The Loser
He’s loyal and dependable, but he’s headed nowhere in a hurry. He’s never had a steady paycheck or even really knew what he wanted out of life, and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change any time soon. He’s always depressed. He plays video games, watches movies, smokes pot . . . and that’s about it.
Keep or cut: “Don’t be an enabler,” Levine says. Translation: Don’t join him for a Bond movie marathon this weekend. Instead, drop the hint that he needs to talk to someone who can help him gain some direction, like a therapist or a career counselor, Levine advises. Also, try to engage him in something more meaningful and active, like taking a hike or attending a career fair. And if he’s not interested in changing? “Let go, but be gentle,” Blews recommends.
8. The Living-in-the-Past FriendYou’ve known this guy since high school, and most of the time it feels like he’s still back there. He’s constantly referencing funny stuff that happened to you “that one time sophomore year,” or “when you asked that older guy to buy you beer.” It’s fun to reminisce once in a while, but you’re pretty damn tired of hearing jokes about your 11th grade math teacher.
Keep or cut: “Don’t let him drag his past into your present,” Blews says, adding that this advice holds true for romantic relationships as well. You’re either moving forward or falling behind, he says. “Friendships can’t be sustained only on old memories,” Levine adds. “If you like him, plan some new adventures together.” And if neither of you are interested in that? “Relegate your relationship to a once-a-year get-together over beers,” Blews says. “That’s what the holidays are for.”
9. The Undependable DudeHe says he’ll be there at 6 but shows up at 8—if at all. You make weekend plans and he bails at the last minute, without offering to pay for the ticket you bought for him. Every time you get together you have a great time, but you can’t count on him, and that’s becoming a problem now that you have a career, a partner, and better things to do than wait around to see whether he’ll show up.
Keep or cut: Read him the riot act, Levine advises. “He may simply be clueless about his behavior, and so could turn it around.” Or just start showing up late yourself, Blews says. If he doesn’t get the message, it’s probably time to say sayonara, Blews adds.

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G NEWS Suicide Bomber Hits Catholic Church in Kaduna

A suicide bomber has hit St. Rita's Catholic Church in  Ungwar Yero  area of Kaduna metropolis. The attack which seriously injured the Reverend father in the church occurred around 8:45 AM during the morning mass.

Eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that a lone car bomber approached the church gate hoping to quietly drive into the church before exploding the bomb but the security men at the gate refused him entry.
The bomber then reversed his car and rammed it forcefully against the gate of the church, the gate caved in as the bomb exploded injuring several churchgoers.

Nigerian troops have cordoned off the area while the police and Kaduna state government officials are calming down  christian residents in the area to avoid religious confrontations that typically follows such attack in the state.

20 Dirty Words You Should NEVER Say to a Woman

It’s no surprise that strong sexual communication skills can lead to a more satisfying time in the sack. But which words you choose may have more of an impact than you think, according to a new study in the Journal of Sex Research.

Choose your words wisely. She's judging you.
Researchers asked 293 married people to fill out questionnaires about their sex lives, how often they talked about sex with their partner, and how satisfied they were with their marriage. People then looked at a list of 44 sex terms—split into clinical terms like “labia,” erotic words like “climax,” slang like “give head,” and dirty stuff like “pussy”—and rated how frequently they used them when talking about sex.
Surprisingly, the more couples used sex slang, the more satisfied they felt with their relationship and sexual communication.
If your pillow talk has been a bit vanilla lately, we’ll teach you how to take it to the next level. But beware: There are certain dirty words you should never say to a naked woman. (Want more sex advice that’s slightly less explicit? Sign up for our FREE Girl Next Door newsletter!)

Backside or butt. Honestly, “ass” shouldn’t offend many women, but if it seems a bit too hardcore for the moment, opt for one of these tamer alternatives.
Not that: Derriere, fanny, or tooshie. Note to men everywhere: Unless you’re talking about your 3-month-old daughter, avoid those words at all costs when you’re describing a woman’s assets.
The slang: Balls
Too intense? Say this: Balls. Seriously, man up. If you’re old enough for a woman to see your goods, you’re old enough to call ‘em what they are.
Not that: Testicles. What are you, a doctor? For everyone’s sake, steer clear of clinical terms when you’re getting it on. (On the flip side, here are 10 Sexy Things to Say to Her Every Time.)
The slang: Eat out
Too intense? Say this: I want to taste you. Research has shown that women who are more comfortable with their genitals are more game for oral sex—andthey orgasm more, says Debby Herbenick, Ph.D., sex researcher at Indiana University and author of Sex Made Easy. So if you frame the act in a positive light that shows her you enjoy it, she’s more likely to let her guard down.
Not that: Cunnilingus. Rule of thumb: If you can’t spell the word off the top of your head, it won’t sound sexy in bed.
The slang: F*ck
Too intense? Say this: I want to bury myself inside you. Your favorite four-letter word can work if the mood is right, but if you’re not on the same page, asking her to “f*ck” out of the blue may come off as cheap and emotionless.
Not that: Smush. Even the cast of Jersey Shore couldn’t get that term to stick, so don’t even attempt it.

The slang: Tits
Too intense? Say this: Breasts. If “tits” is a little too porno for your style, “breasts” is a more tasteful term to incorporate into your foreplay.
Not that: Hooters, knockers, funbags, jugs, cans, or the twins. Call them whatever you want around your guy friends. But if you compliment her giant “jugs” when she first whips ‘em out . . . prepare to get slapped. (Meanwhile, discover The Best Ways to Touch Her Breasts.)
The slang: Dick
Too intense? Say this: PenisIn the new study, “penis” was the seventh most popular word out of 44 terms, so you’re in good company.
Not that: Magic stickEven if you’re 50 Cent, no woman would ever take you seriously if you asked her to roll a condom down your “Magic Stick.” Keep it classy, man. (That’s not the only bone we have to pick with ‘Fiddy. Check outScience vs. 50 Cent: On Masturbation.)
The slang: Pussy
Too intense? Say this: VaginaAs with “penis,” calling it by its proper name is still plenty sexy. When it came to popularity, “vagina” ranked 17th out of 44 in the Journal of Sex Research study.
Not that: Box, hole, twat, the C-word . . . this list is endlessAll it takes is the wrong dirty word to jeopardize your shot at future sex sessions, so stick with “vagina” if she prefers you to be PC, or “pussy” if she’s feeling freaky and you know she’s cool with it. Anything else, and you’re walking on thin ice.
The slang: Cum
Too intense? Say this: Bust or get offWhispering in her ear that you’d like to “ejaculate inside her” may not sound as hot on the receiving end. These two are neutral enough to relay the message.
Not that: Skeet, splooge, and spurtRule of thumb: If you’ve hit puberty, this trio should be long gone from your vocabulary.

Andy Uba fights Arthur Eze over N.2b property in Enugu

A sensational legal battle between a business mogul from Anambra State, Prince Arthur Eze and Senator Andy Uba, representing Anambra South Senatorial District  is now raging before an Enugu State High Court presided over by the Chief Judge, Justice Innocent Umezulike.
The legal battle erupted following an attempt by Prince Eze to take over two immovable properties belonging to  one Major Emmanuel Okwuosa which the Enugu State High Court ordered should be sold to enable Eze recover the $1million (about N157 million) allegedly owed him by Okwuosa.
However, Senator Uba is claiming ownership of the two properties namely: Plots M17 and O/19 Independence Layout, Enugu which the court presided over by Justice Umezulike, had earlier ordered to be attached for sale in favour of Prince Eze on October 10, 2012.
Umezulike had granted an ex-parte application brought by Obi Orakwue, counsel for Prince Eze pursuant to Section 44 of Sheriffs & Civil Process Act, 2004; Order IV Rules 1 (2) & 16 (1); Order VII Rule 7 Judgment Enforcement Rules and ordered the attachment and sale by private contract of the immovable properties of Okwuosa, the judgement debtor, who was indebted to the applicant to tune of about $1 million only.
But following the issuance of the Writ of attachment and sale against the said properties by the court as directed in suit number E/147/2012, Senator Uba approached the court as an interested party/appellant saying that the two properties in question were bought for him by the said Major Okwuosa from Chief R. O. Nkwocha family at N250 million.
But in a 26-paragraph counter affidavit opposing Uba’s motion dated October 19, 2012, Prince Eze’s counsel, Orakwue, told the court that Uba was not the owner of the two immovable properties but Okwuosa, who had his interest duly registered in the names at the Lands Registery vide irrevocable power of attorney and Deed of Assignment.
